I never thought a cupcake could be so perfect until I stumbled across this recipe for churro cupakes. Yes, churro cupcakes. Say what?! These cupcakes taste exactly like the warm, chewy churros from Disneyland–but made even better with the addition of cinnamon cream cheese frosting. Please go make these asap!

Hey, I made something with chocolate! This is a big step for me because well, I’m that weirdo who doesn’t like chocolate. Anyways, I made these cupcakes for my boss’ Christmas party and they were a huge hit. My co-worker said they tasted like peppermint bark in cupcake form.
These little guys are perfect to bring to any upcoming holiday party. :)
keep ’em away. [banana cupcakes w. peanut butter cream cheese frosting]

I’m doing everything I can to get these cupcakes out of my apartment as soon as possible–they’re sinfully delicious. I brought a few to work today for my co-workers (who devoured them), and am taking some to my friends tonight.
In all honesty, the cupcakes don’t even need frosting; though, the banana and peanut butter combo is divine. I plan on using just the cupcake recipe next time to make banana bread. But I’ll wait a while to make the bread, as I’d probably finish the loaf in a day and gain 10 pounds. :)
new & improved. [mini gingerbread cupcakes w. maple cream cheese frosting]

I’m still processing that Christmas is in exactly one week. This month, rather, this year, has flown by. It’s been a fantastic one, but I’m ready to see what 2013 has in store.
I went to my boss’ Christmas party this past weekend and was in charge of bringing mini cupcakes. Since I wasn’t completely satisfied with the gingerbread cupcakes I made for a friend’s party last year, I wanted to find a better recipe. This recipe was a definite winner–not a cupcake was left at the party. These little guys are perfect for an on-the-go breakfast or a quick dessert.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday. Check out more Halloween-themed cupcakes here–please forgive the photos, that was two years ago!
perfect pair. [Blue Moon cupcakes w. orange cream cheese frosting]

We’re celebrating my friend Ashley’s birthday tonight, so naturally, I wanted to bake cupcakes. When I saw this recipe for Blue Moon cupcakes on Spoon Fork Bacon, I knew exactly what I was going to bake. Seriously…how could anyone pass these up? I knew I couldn’t, considering Blue Moon is my favorite beer and cupcakes are my favorite dessert. Let’s just hope Ashley feels the same way. ;)
I also wanted to give this recipe a test run, as I’m planning on baking these cupcakes for the LA Food Blogger Bake Sale. If you’re in the Los Angeles area, I’d love you to join me, Geni at Sweet and Crumby, and your fellow LA food bloggers on Saturday, April 28th from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at BLD Restaurant (7450 Beverly Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90036) for the third annual LA Food Blogger Bake Sale to end childhood hunger.
If you want to help bake, please send an e-mail to chungahrhee@gmail.com. Hope to see you there!
back to baking. [lemon cupcakes w. graham cracker crust, blackberry filling & blackberry buttercream]

We made and ate an excessive amount of food for the Super Bowl. From seven layer dip to spinach artichoke dip to deviled eggs (oh yes, with bacon grease) to homemade chicken tenders to pork sliders to veggie platters…the list goes on.
I was in charge of bringing dessert and wanted to bake cupcakes since I hadn’t in a while, which is odd considering it’s one of my favorite desserts to make. These weren’t just any cupcake though–not only were they filled with a blackberry puree, but they also had a graham cracker crust, which provided a pleasant textural contrast to the light lemon cake. The cupcakes were a hit at the party and I will most definitely be making them again, as should you!
Though I didn’t have a preference who won yesterday, the majority of our party was rooting for the Patriots. So, obviously it wasn’t the desired outcome for them, but congrats to the Giants fans.
Just a glimpse of half of the (half-eaten) food from yesterday.
